Official Inauguration of the Automotive Center of Excellence Cambodia (ACE-Cambodia)

March 16, 2026 - The official inauguration of the Automotive Center of Excellence Cambodia (ACE Cambodia) was held on the morning of March 16, 2026, at the National Technical Training Institute, presided over by H.E. Heng Sour, Minister of Labour and Vocational Training; Ms. Bridget Collier, Deputy Head of Mission of the Australian Embassy in Cambodia; Mr. Kevin Whitcraft, CEO of RMA Group; Mr. Ngorn Saing, CEO of RMA (Cambodia) Plc.; Ms. Sharan Burrow, Chair of the Board from BKI; and Mr. Van Vichet, CEO of The ACE Cambodia. The ceremony brought together representatives from the ministries, embassies, automotive companies, development partners, and key stakeholders.

ACE Cambodia is a collaborative initiative between RMA Cambodia, the Ministry of Labour and Vocational Training, Bendigo Kangan Institute (Australia), and the Australian Government. The center provides hands-on automotive training, modern technologies, and stronger links between TVET and industry. As a leading platform for practical automotive skills in Cambodia and the Southeast Asian region, ACE Cambodia aims to raise skill standards, enhance job readiness, and introduce an “Earn and Learn” approach inspired by Australia’s apprenticeship system. By combining BKI’s curriculum with RMA Cambodia’s industry technologies, the center will also drive innovation in diagnostics, electric vehicles, and safety, ensuring graduates are job-ready from day one.

“Skills Build Industries, Industries Build Economies, and Economies Create Opportunities for People,” Mr. Ngorn Saing, CEO of RMA Cambodia, emphasized. Therefore, strengthening the technical skills is a must for the capacity building of the Cambodian labor workforce in responding to the high demands of industries and in diversifying the economies.

Through this initiative, RMA Cambodia and ACE Cambodia will continue contributing to the development of skilled human resources, empowering Cambodian youth and supporting the sustainable growth of the country’s automotive industry.
